Thanks for sharing! I used to study PFAS in sea turtles, killer whales, and black crowned night herons. Their ubiquity is astounding.

Astounding, indeed. In everything, everywhere, all at once. And yet the vast majority of the many thousands of PFAS chemicals haven’t been tested for their toxicity, much less in combination. I think what little we know is focused on human health rather than ecological impacts, but you might know more about that.

Very true. It’s hard to drill down their ecological impacts. For wildlife, it’s often considered “harm by 1000 papercuts” - PFAS being just one group of contaminants they are exposed to. My work/ most work I engaged with focused on assessing the identifying the presence and relative concentration of different PFAS types in various organs.
